Troy Women’s Golf Knocks Off No. 50 Georgia in Match Play

ATHENS, Ga. – The Troy women's golf team knocked off No. 50 Georgia 3-1 on its home course, the UGA Golf Course, Saturday afternoon in the opening round of match play at the Liz Murphey Classic. Troy dropped it's second-round match 3-1 to No. 23 Texas A&M later in the afternoon.

Taylor McGraw, Langley Vannoy and Becca Horner all scored victories for the Trojans as they pulled the upset of the Bulldogs in the opening round matchup in the black bracket. McGraw defeated Amelia Hill 3-and-2, Horner took down Amira Alexander 2-up and Vannoy battled Sammi Lee to a 2-and-1 victory.

Horner stayed perfect on the day as she defeated Texas A&M's Chelsea Mocio 3-and-2. Brooke Spinks was even with Marijosse Navarro when the match was halted.

Troy will take on No. 22 Iowa State on Sunday in the final match of the Liz Murphey Classic.
