The Troy University Student Athlete Advisory Committee participated in the Troy University Relay for Life this past Saturday outside of Trojan Arena and surpassed their goal of $400 raised for the American Cancer Society.
Â
In addition to raising money with the Relay for Life's personalized lit bags, Troy's SAAC sponsored a pancake eating contest with its student-athletes. Men's golfer Phillip Brennan won the contest, which included Trojan football and soccer players.
Â
With over 20 teams and 250 participants, the Troy University Relay for Life event raised over $15,500 for the American Cancer Society.

About Relay for Life
At Relay For Life events, communities across the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The funds you raise truly make a difference in the fight against cancer – just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors who will celebrate another birthday this year!
Â
Relay For Life teams camp out overnight and take turns walking or running around a track or path at a local high school, park, or fairground. Events are up to 24 hours long, and because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times.Â
