David Hall Named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week

TROY, Ala – Troy junior outfielder David Hall has been named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week the league office announced on Monday.

Hall had a near record-breaking series against Northern Kentucky as he reached base 16 times in 18 plate appearances including his first 14; the NCAA record for consecutive plate appearances reached is 18.

"It's a great honor," Hall said. "I have to give a lot of credit to our trainer Sean Boland for getting me back from my injury last year and our coaching staff for sticking with me."

For the series, Hall was 7-for-9 (.778) with two home runs, four RBIs, a double and eight walks; he was also hit by a pitch. He finished with an .889 on-base percentage and 1.556 slugging percentage. Hall also scored six runs and stole a base. The Fort Pierce, Fla., native hit a solo home run in the fourth inning of Game 1 on Friday then a two-run shot in Game 3 on Saturday.

The Trojans will host Central Michigan in a four-game series beginning on Friday at 6 p.m.
