Troy Football Adds Three Mid-Year Transfers

TROY, Alabama – Troy head coach Neal Brown announced the signing of three mid-year transfers to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. The trio, William Lloyd, Justin Lucas and Jalen Rountree, will enroll at Troy in the spring semester and will be immediately eligible to play beginning with the 2015 season.

"We are excited to welcome these three young men to the Troy family," Brown said. "All three have a chance to be impact players for us next year, and they fill some immediate needs we have on our defense. They are all outstanding students and high character guys. It has been a hectic couple of weeks and I want to give a lot of credit to our coaching staff for the work they have done on the recruiting trail."

Lloyd and Lucas join the Trojans after starting at linebacker this past season at East Mississippi Community College where they won their second straight NJCAA National Championship. The pair combined for 157 tackles, 29.5 tackles for loss and 10 sacks in 2014. The Lions held their opponents to just 7.6 points, 181.3 yards of total offense and 44.8 rushing yards this past season.

Rountree was a lockdown cornerback at Coffeyville Community College where he earned first team all-conference honors. He helped lead the Red Ravens to a 9-3 record and a No. 10 national ranking as he finished the season with 48 tackles and an interception.
