Trojans Host Final Two Home Matches

TROY, Alabama – The Troy volleyball team will wrap up its home schedule this weekend as ULM and UL Lafayette visit Trojan Arena on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Â
Friday's match against ULM will begin at 7 p.m. and will mark Senior Night as Troy will honor five seniors prior to the match. Saturday's match against UL Lafayette will also start at 7 p.m. Admission to all home Troy volleyball matches is FREE.

Troy (9-18, 1-14) will be looking to snap a 14-match losing streak that included losses at Arkansas State and UALR last weekend. Following this weekend's two home matches, the Trojans will have just three matches remaining in the regular season.

Blair Winston's 2.89 kills/set average leads the Trojans offensively. She is one of four Trojans averaging over 2.00 kills/set, including senior Marija Zelenovic who will be honored prior to Friday's match along with Kelley Curran, Kayla Pickart, Katie Feemster and Alicia Dukes.

Defensively, Ali Dowdall leads the Trojans with 4.86 digs/set overall and 5.70 digs/set in Sun Belt play, the second best mark in the conference. Darby Griff leads the Trojans with 94 total blocks on the season and a 0.93 blocks/set average.

ULM (7-20, 1-13) has lost six straight matches since an October 10 win over Troy, including a home loss to UALR last weekend. The Warhawks are 0-10 on the road this season.

Troy is 10-2 all-time against the Warhawks, but ULM has won the last two meetings, both in five sets at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

UL Lafayette (16-11, 5-10) has lost five straight Sun Belt matches, including five-set losses to Texas State and Arkansas State last weekend, at home. The Ragin Cajuns are 3-7 on the road this season.

Troy is 8-7 all-time against UL Lafayette, including a five-set loss earlier this season at Earl K. Long Gym.Â
