Ware, Tynes, McKelvin, Umenyiora and Jernigan Headline All-Blakeney Team

TROY, Alabama – Throughout his 24-year career as the head coach at Troy, Larry Blakeney has coached some of the best players in college and professional football. As Blakeney's coaching career comes to a close Saturday, a panel of voters selected the best of the best during his tenure to comprise the All-Blakeney Team.

Defensive lineman DeMarcus Ware and kicker Lawrence Tynes were the only two unanimous selections to the All-Blakeney Team, while wide receiver Jerrel Jernigan, defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora and defensive back/return specialist Leodis McKelvin received 95 percent of the possible votes.

The voting panel included members of the football head coach search advisory committee, current and former assistant coaches, Troy University and Athletic Department staff and members of the media.

Blakeney will lead his Trojans onto the field one final time when Troy hosts UL Lafayette on Saturday in Veterans Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and pregame festivities, including Senior Day, will begin at 11 a.m.
