Terry Earns Weekly Sun Belt Honor

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – Troy volleyball's Reina Terry was named the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Terry helped the Trojans to a win in their season finale as she posted 43 assists in a four-set victory over rival South Alabama on Saturday. The Milton, Ga., native tied a season-high with 49 assists in a five-set loss to Georgia State on Friday.

On the weekend, she averaged 10.22 assists/set and helped the Trojans hit .207 and .250 as a team, respectively, against Georgia State and South Alabama. Terry also averaged 2.22 digs/set and 0.78 blocks/set and posted a double-double against the Panthers.

Since taking over as the Trojans' primary setter for the final seven matches of the season, Terry is averaging 9.54 assists/set.

The weekly award is the first of Terry's career. It is the fourth of the season for Troy after Ali Dowdall was named Defensive Player of Week twice and Kiah Cheatham earned the same award once.
