Volleyball Adds Three During Signing Period

TROY, Alabama – The Troy volleyball program and head coach Sonny Kirkpatrick announced the signing of three players during last week's early signing period. Kailey Carr, Logan Page and Jordyn Saulsberry will all join the Trojans for the 2015 season.

"I'm excited about the future of our program," Kirkpatrick said. "And these young ladies will compliment the returning players well."

Carr, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter and defensive specialist, will come to Troy from South Forsyth High School in Cumming, Ga. A three-year starting defensive specialist for South Forsyth, Carr posted 363 digs as a senior last season and was also a team captain.Â

She led South Forsyth to the Elite Eight of the GHSA AAAAAA State Volleyball Championships. Carr also posted 638 digs for her club team last season.

Page, a 6-foot-2 middle hitter and setter, will come to Troy from Sequoyah High School in Woodstock, Ga. Last season as a senior, Page led Sequoyah to the GHSA AAAAA State Volleyball Championship and a 50-8 overall record. She posted 856 assists, 249 digs, 111 total blocks, 160 kills and 62 aces.Â

A four-year starter, Page had 2,296 career assists and a combined 143-44 record. She was a two-time Georgia AAAAA All-State first team selection and a two-time Area 7-AAAAA Player of the Year.

With her club team, A5 Volleyball, Page has won a bronze medal in the AAU Championships and a silver medal in the USAV National Championships.

Saulsberry, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter, will come to Troy from Trinity Catholic High School in Ocala, Fla. She has been a team captain for four years and helped Trinity Catholic to four district titles. Trinity Catholic appeared in three FHSAA Volleyball Championships Elite Eights. Saulsberry finished her high school career with 1,402 kills and 934 digs.

With her club team, Ocala Power, Saulsberry has won three straight national tournaments. In 2014, she won the Premier Division of the AAU Nationals. That, just a year after winning the National Division of the USAV Nationals and two years after winning the Club Division of the AAU Nationals.

Saulsberry's brother, Trevarris, is a junior defensive tackled at Tennessee.
