Â
Troy (9-10, 1-6) will be looking to snap a six-math losing streak, which includes last weekend's matches at Georgia Southern and Appalachian State. Four of the six losses during the streak have come in five sets.
Â
Blair Winston averages 2.99 kills/set to lead four Trojans who average more than 2.00 kills/set. Symone Shaw (2.61 k/s), Marija Zelenovic (2.44 k/s) and Kiah Cheatham (2.08 k/s) are also over the 2.00 mark. Winston's 2.80 kill/set in Sun Belt play is just slightly higher than Shaw's 2.73 kills/set mark in league play.
Â
Ali Dowdall leads the Trojans at 4.61 digs/set, but is averaging 5.93 digs/set in Sun Belt play, the second best mark in the league. The junior libero has posted at least 15 digs in all seven of Troy's conference matches, including 20-plus digs in five of the seven matches.
Â
South Alabama (8-8, 3-3) is coming off of a four-set win at Georgia State on Saturday. Prior to that, the Jaguars had lost three straight, including a match last Friday at Appalachian State.
Â
Since moving to Division I in 1993, Troy has played more matches against South Alabama than any other team. The Trojans hold a 21-18 record against the Jaguars in that time span, including an 11-7 mark in regular season Sun Belt matches.Â
Â
The teams split last year's two matches with each road team winning. No team has ever won more than four straight in the series.
