Men’s Hoops Begins Road Trip at UT Arlington

ARLINGTON, Texas – Two games lie ahead for the Trojans, as Troy (7-11, 2-4 SBC) heads to Texas to take on UT Arlington (7-10, 2-3 SBC) on Thursday night at 8. The game will be televised by the Sun Belt Network and ESPN3.

Troy lost a pair of games at home last week, falling to UL Monroe and UL Lafayette. Both games were tightly contested headed into the final minutes before free throws grew the leads to double-figures.

Antoine Myers leads the team in scoring this year at 12.4 points per game. Hunter Williams is also averaging double-figures at 11.2 points per game. As a team, Troy is outrebounding opponents by 7.2 boards per contest in SBC games, the best average in the league.

UT Arlington enters the game after upending Texas State on the road last week. The Mavericks are led by Reger Dowell, the conference's leading scorer, at 21.6 points per game. Three other Mavericks are averaging double-figures.

Troy has never faced UT Arlington.

The game is the first of two on the road for Troy, as the Trojans will travel to San Marcos, Texas for an afternoon tilt with Texas State on Saturday.
