Troy Women’s Golf in Fourth Following Day One at Fred Marx

MONROE, La. – The Troy women's golf team shot matching rounds of 304 on the opening day of the Fred Marx Invitational on Monday at the Bayou DeSiard County Club in Monroe, La. The Trojans are tied for fourth place entering Tuesday's final round.
Troy's leader in the clubhouse is junior Langley Vannoy who carded a 74 in the opening round and followed with a 77 in Monday's second round. Vannoy is tied for 14th place but is just five shots out of fifth place.
Freshman Fátima Fernández Cano was solid in her debut for the Trojans after shooting a 2-over-par 74 in the first round of the day and a 6-over-par 78 in the second round. Cano is tied for 17th heading into Tuesday's final 18 holes.
Becca Horner turned in Troy's best round of the day as she fired a 73 in the second round to recover from an opening round tally of 80. The freshman is tied for 21st following the first two rounds. Taylor McGraw and Brooke Spinks finished the opening two rounds tied for 31st after shooting a 155.
The third and final round of the Fred Marx Invitational is expected to be delayed briefly as rain is expected in the Monroe area early Tuesday morning.
