Tennis Opens Season in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Troy men's and women's tennis teams open their season on Friday at the Big Easy Tennis Classic hosted by New Orleans. The individual play event features a doubles draw and three singles draws on both the men's and women's side, and runs from Friday to Sunday.
Both teams will be seeing their first action under new head coaches as Rawia Elsisi leads the women's team and Scott Kidd leads the men's side.
The Troy women will send seven student-athletes to the tournament that features 10 women's teams. The Troy men will send three student-athletes to the tournament that features six teams on the men's side.
Last season, the Troy women competed in the tournament and won two singles draws while advancing to the finals in doubles draw. The Troy men did not compete in the Big East Tennis Classic last season.
