Troy Baseball Alumni Game Set for Homecoming Weekend

TROY, Ala. - The 2013 Troy Baseball Alumni Game will be played on Friday, Oct. 4 at 7:30 pm at Riddle-Pace Field, head coach Bobby Pierce announced on Thursday.

Admission is free to the event and Troy fans are invited to join former Trojan players as they re-live their playing days.

"The alumni weekend event has really grown in popularity the last few years, so much that we now schedule the event every two years," Pierce said. "We are averaging between 65 and 70 former players playing in the game now and we expect a similar size group this year."

The game will include several former Trojan All-Americans and current professional players. Awards will be presented for the oldest player participating, the best fastball, the hardest-hit ball, the player who travels the farthest as well as a most valuable player award.

Prior to first pitch of the alumni game, former players Adam Godwin (2004-05), Nate Moore (2004) and Eric Wikstrom (2001-04) along with long-time radio broadcaster Jerry Miller (supporter) will be included in a special awards ceremony.

Each player is asked to register early and bring their family with them to enjoy all the weekend festivities planned on campus. The fee for the weekend is $25. Please complete the online registration form.

September 18 is the deadline for submitting the Alumni Game registration form, please follow the instructions below:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Number of people in your party that plan to eat on the Lott Baseball Complex Deck on Friday, Oct. 4 from 6-9 pm.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Sizes and number of t-shirts for the Alumni Game for you and your immediate family.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Number of football tickets for you and your immediate family for the Trojans' homecoming game against South Alabama.

Former players that would like to just play in the alumni game may register at any time. Players that will be in need of tickets for Troy's football game versus South Alabama, plan on attending Friday night's dinner or would like t-shirts must submit their registration form before the deadline.

Former players are encouraged to attend and reach out to former teammates to attend the event.
