STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – Two weeks following its third-straight third place finish in Hattiesburg, the Troy women's golf team will turn its attention to the John Kirk/Lady Panther Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday hosted by Georgia State.
The tournament will feature 54 holes of play at the Eagle's Landing Country Club, a par-72, 6,100-yard layout in Stockbridge, Ga., just outside of Atlanta.
Monday's action will begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start and will feature 36 holes of continuous play. Tuesday's final round is slated for a 9 a.m. start.
As a team Troy enters ranked third in the Sun Belt Conference statistically with a 304 team stroke average, and have recorded three straight finishes of third dating back to February.
Sofia Bjorkman enters as the Sun Belt's No. 2 golfer statistically with a 74.11 stroke average. The senior has finished as Troy's low golfer in six of seven tournaments in 2012-13, and has finished in the top-10 of every tournament this season.
Langley Vannoy enters the tournament with three straight finishes within the top-20 and sits No. 10 in the Sun Belt. The sophomore is averaging 76.56 strokes per 18 holes this season and is looking to improve on a low finish of T10th.
Sara Fennvik has finished in the top-25 of all three spring events thus far, and carries a 77.53 stroke average into the 54-hole event Monday.
Taylor McGraw has competed in all of Troy's seven events, and enters with a 77.94 stroke average after finishing tied for 24th in the last event, the Lady Eagle Invitational.
Sydney Conrad will look to improve on a low finish of 21st, and takes a stroke average of 79.56 into the two-day event.
The tournament field of 14 teams features four ranked in GolfStat's top-100, including host Georgia State, Delaware, Eastern Kentucky, Houston Baptist, Jacksonville State, Jacksonville, James Madison, No. 84 Kent State, Murray State, No. 71 Old Dominion, Samford, No. 97 Southern Miss, No. 99 Troy and UC Riverside.
