Trojans Look to Keep Momentum, Host FIU

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's basketball team will look to back up one of the biggest wins in program history with another big win on Thursday as the Trojans host FIU. Tip-off is set for 5:15 p.m. at Trojan Arena with the men's basketball game to follow.
Troy Athletics will offer a Sweetheart Special for the Valentine's Day doubleheader as all couples attending the game will get two tickets for the price of one. Fans can purchase tickets in advance by calling the Troy ticket office at 1-877-878-WINS (9467) or take advantage of the offer at the door.
Live stats and live video will be available through TroyTrojans.com. Fans can also hear the game on WTBF 94.7 FM in Troy.
Troy (5-18, 2-12) is coming off an upset victory over Middle Tennessee on Sunday. The Trojans won that game, 74-70, in overtime at the Murphy Center, marking just the second home Sun Belt loss for the Blue Raiders in the last five years.
Troy led by 12 at halftime and held on to the lead for 19 minutes in the second half before Middle Tennessee tied the score with 49 seconds remaining.
Joanna Harden led the Trojans with 27 points and was named the Sun Belt Player of the Week on Monday, the first such honor in the history of the program. Harden averaged 23.0 points per game in Troy's two contests last week.
Harden averages 14.5 per game overall to lead a Troy offense that averages 73.7 points per game as a team, the best mark in the Sun Belt and 16th best in the NCAA. Troy is also the top rebounding team in the league at 41.3 boards per game.
FIU (16-9, 9-6) comes in having won its last two games, including a 72-63 win at North Texas on Saturday. The Panthers are led by Jerica Coley who averages 25.5 points per game, tops in the nation.
FIU won the last meeting between the two teams in mid-January in Miami, 82-76. Coley and Harden each scored 33 points in a game that was close throughout.
Troy is 6-11 all-time against FIU, including a 3-5 mark in Troy. The Panthers have won the last six meetings between the two schools.
