NEW ORLEANS – Troy safety Camren Hudson has been named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week following a career day against Texas State this past Saturday.
Hudson was all over the field in Troy's 42-28 victory over the Bobcats as the Tallahassee, Fla., native recorded a career-high 12 tackles to help the Trojans become bowl eligible for the sixth time in the past eight seasons.
Playing at home for the final time, Hudson intercepted Texas State quarterback Duke DeLancellotti on the third play of the game to set up the Trojans with outstanding field position. Hudson also forced a fumble and was credited with a pair of pass break ups in the game.
