Trojans Return Home to Face Alcorn State

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's basketball team is looking to get back to its winning ways, as the Trojans return home to Trojan Arena to face Alcorn State on Monday, December 2, at 7 p.m.

The Trojans (2-3) lost at Central Arkansas on Tuesday night, 60-53. Antoine Myers led the team with 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting. Kevin Thomas also scored in double-figures, finishing with 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Hunter Williams is leading Troy in scoring this season at 11.6 points per game. Myers and Thomas are right behind, at 11.4 and 11.2 points per game, respectively.

As a team, Troy is scoring 71.0 points per game. The Trojans are causing more turnovers than they are giving up, as their turnover differential is +1.2 per game. Troy is being outrebounded this season by an average of 7.8 boards per game.

Alcorn State (3-3) has yet to win a road game, as the Braves enter tomorrow game 0-3 away from home. Last time out, Alcorn State fell at Wright State on Wednesday night, 73-55. Octavius Brown led the Braves with 11 points and seven rebounds on the night.

The Braves have also struggled on the glass this season, as they are getting outrebounded by their opponents by an average of nearly five rebounds per game. Their offense is scoring 70.3 points per game, while their defense is giving up 72.0.

Troy is 2-0 all-time against Alcorn State. The last meeting came on November 21, 2008, at the LSU Thanksgiving Tournament, with Troy winning 92-79. The other meeting came during the 1993-94 season, with Troy winning at home.
