Troy Women’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Steelwood Preview

Final Results
LOXLEY, Ala. – Brooke Spinks fired a final round 75 and finished in a tie for sixth place to lead the Troy women's golf team at the Steelwood Preview at the Steelwood Country Club on Tuesday; the Trojans finished fourth.
Spinks, who competed as an individual, was solid on the par three holes throughout the tournament as she finished 1-over with a 3.13 stroke average over two rounds. Fatima Fernandez Cano and Langley Vannoy finished tied for 14th; Cano rebounded from a tough opening round as she shaved 10 strokes off her score in round two by shooting a 1-over 73.
Vannoy carded the fifth most birdies in the field (5) and played the par four holes at 3-over for the tournament, which was the third-best rate in the field.
ULM won the team title by 16 strokes over Western Kentucky and South Alabama finished in third just ahead of Troy. ULM's Ali Knowles shot 4-under for the tournament to claim individual medalist honors.
Becca Horner and Sudney Conrad turned in a top 20 performances for the Trojans as they tied for 17th, while Taylor McGraw rounded out the field for the Trojans in 34th place.
The tournament was the final one of the fall for the Trojans, they will next return to action when they travel to Mobile, Ala., for the Lady Jaguar Invitational on Feb. 24-25.
