LOXLEY, Ala. – Three Trojans rank in the top nine following the opening round of the Steelwood Preview and the Troy women's golf team sits in a three-way tie for second place. The Steelwood Country Club is the site of the Sun Belt Conference Championship in the spring.
Playing in just her second tournament of the fall, Sydney Conrad shot the best round of the day for the Trojans after carding a 77, good for a tie for sixth place. Langley Vannoy and Becca Horner both shot a 78 and are tied for ninth place.
Led by individual leader Ali Knowles, ULM leads Troy, South Alabama and Western Kentucky by nine strokes for the team title.
Taylor McGraw shot an opening-round 80 for the Trojans and is tied for 20th place, while Fatima Fernandez Cano is tied for 30th after shooting an 83 on Monday.
The second and final round of the Steelwood Preview will get underway at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
