Cano’s Fourth-Place Finish Leads Troy Women at Blue Raider Invitational

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Freshman Fátima Fernández Cano shot a 1-over-par 73 in Tuesday's final round of the Blue Raider Invitational at the Old Fort Golf Club to lead the Troy women's golf team. Cano finished in fourth place overall and the Trojans took home a seventh-place finish.

Cano finished the tournament with the best score of the season by any Trojan golfer as she carded a 2-over 218. The Spain native was steady throughout the tournament as she carded 39 pars to lead the field.

Langley Vannoy just missed out on a top 10 finish as she carded a 77 in Tuesday's final round and finished in a tie for 14^th. The Pensacola, Fla., native finished 10-over for the tournament and was only two shots out of eighth place.

Southern Illinois edged out host Middle Tennessee by one stroke for the team championship, while Morehead State's Anna Appert Lund ran away with the individual title by six shots.

Taylor McGraw shot a 77 for the third straight round and finished tied for 36^th, while Becca Horner tied for 49^th, Sydney Conrad tied for 67^th and Brooke Spinks finished in 76^th place.

The Trojans head to the site of the Sun Belt Conference Championship on Nov. 4-5 for the Steelwood Preview in Loxley, Ala.
