Troy Volleyball Travels to South Alabama Wednesday

MOBILE, Ala. – The Troy volleyball team will look to snap a five-match losing streak on Wednesday when the Trojans travel to take on South Alabama at 7 p.m. at Jaguar Gym.

Troy (5-11, 0-2) is coming off of a home loss to WKU and a road, five-set loss to Arkansas State to open Sun Belt play last weekend.
Blair Winston led Troy with 20 kills against Arkansas State while Courtney Cohen posted 23 digs, marking the 26th time in her career she has gone over 20 digs. Cohen currently has 1,770 career digs as she looks to become just the fifth player in Sun Belt history with 2,000 career digs.
Offensively, Marija Zelenovic has led the Trojans for much of the season as she averages 3.31 kills/set, the fifth best average in the Sun Belt. Zelenovic has a .200 attack percentage on the year while Kiah Cheatham leads the way with a .275 attack percentage.
Alexandra Alexander averaged 10.00 assists/set last weekend in Troy's two Sun Belt matches, including a 48-assists effort at Arkansas State.
South Alabama (5-7, 0-2) comes in after losing home matches to UALR and WKU last weekend. The Jaguars are led by freshman Mechell Daniel who averages 3.60 kills/set and has a .251 attack percentage on the season.
Since moving to Division I in 1993, Troy has played South Alabama more than any other team, posting a 20-17 record against the Jaguars. South Alabama is the only team that Troy has played in each season since 1993.
Since moving to the Sun Belt in 2005, the Trojans are 10-6 against the Jaguars, including wins in each of the two meetings last season.
