Trojans Look to Halt Skid at FIU

MIAMI – The Troy women's basketball team will look to snap a six-game losing streak on Saturday as the Trojans travel to take on FIU.
Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m. CST at U.S. Century Bank Arena. Live stats and video will be available through FIUSports.com. Fans in Troy can hear the radio broadcast on WTBF 94.7 FM or online at WTBF.com.
Troy (3-13, 0-7) comes in having lost six straight games, despite leading three of those contests at halftime. The Trojans most recent contest was a 74-63 defeat at Florida Atlantic on Wednesday.
The Trojans shot 48.1 percent from the field in that game, but they committed 31 turnovers, a season-high for Troy.
Jasmine Pitts led Troy with 18 points in that game, including 15 in the second half, while Joanna Harden was also in double figures with 16 points.
Troy comes in averaging 74.5 points per game, tops in the Sun Belt and 17th best in the nation. Freshman Ashley Beverly-Kelley leads the way at 12.2 points per game, second among Sun Belt freshman.
FIU (10-7, 4-4) comes in off of a loss to North Texas at home on Thursday, 70-68. The Panthers went to the free throw line 11 times while North Texas took 32 free throws.
FIU is led by Jerica Coley who averages 23.3 points per game, tops in the Sun Belt and third in the nation. Coley, a 5-foot-8 guard, leads FIU in assists (4.0), steals (2.1) and blocks (1.9) per game. She is also the Panthers second-leading rebounder (7.4 rpg).
