Trojans In Fifth After Day One

ONEONTA, Ala. – The Troy (307-306-613) women's golf team sits in fifth place after day one of the Samford University Women's Intercollegiate at the par-72, 6,457-yard Limestone Springs Golf Club.
Florida Southern (298-303-601) leads No. 80 Middle Tennessee State by two strokes, and Samford and ULM are tied for third at 34-over par.
In her eighth event of the season, senior Haley Lawrence (74-76-150) sits atop the leader board among all Trojans tied for ninth place at six-over par. Sofia Bjorkman (77-74-151), also a senior, is only one stroke behind, tied for 12th. Bjorkman carded a first round, five-over par 77, but improved in the third round with a 74.
The trio of freshman in Langley Vannoy, Taylor McGraw and Sydney Conrad, make up the remaining golfers for the Trojans. McGraw (78-77-155), who averages a 78.55, stayed close to her average score with a 78 and 77 in the first and second rounds. Conrad (78-79-157) ended the 36-hole, day one total at 13-over par after shooting a 78 and 79 in the first two rounds.
Vannoy (79-80-159) sits tied for 39th at 15-over par with Newberry's Lisa Brandl. Sara Fennvik (85-83-168), who is competing as an individual, sits tied for 54th at 24-over par.
