2012 Spring Depth Chart
TROY, Ala. – The Troy football team completed its first practice of the week in preparation for Saturday's annual T-Day game at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Tuesday's practice lasted two hours and Troy head coach Larry Blakeney seemed pleased with the team's competition heading into the second week of practice. Also before Tuesday's practice, the Trojans released their depth chart for spring practice.
“I thought we had some good competition,” Blakeney said. “We're getting better and we've got a lot of spirit and competition. Everybody seems to be working hard and still got a ways to go, even in the simple drills we do learning how to be a one-on-one football player on both sides to the ball and that carries over into the 11-on-11 (drills).”
Troy has one practice remaining for Saturday's T-Day Game; which will be the first full contact scrimmage for the Trojans this spring.
“We got to keep working and keep believing and everyday each individual that comes out here has got to try and get better for him and the team,” Blakeney said.
Kickoff for the T-Day Game is set for 2:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Admission to the public is free for T-Day and Coach Blakeney says the team is ready for Saturday's scrimmage.
“We'll try to put on a good scrimmage Saturday. Hopefully we get through with nobody hurt and get something out of it,” Blakeney said. “T-Day is always special; a lot of families, students, and prospective students come in. A lot of stuff goes on with sort a carnival type atmosphere with a lot of games going on. It's a great day and we usually have a lot of folks come back.
