Trojans Begin Spring Practice

TROY, Ala. – The Troy football team took to the turf of Veterans Memorial Stadium today for the first of 13 practices scheduled over the next four weeks.
Action began at 5:30 as players were split into their respective position groups. The practice consisted of 26 five-minute periods and players worked on various drills and exercises to prepare them for the remainder of the spring season heading into summer camp and fall.
The Trojans return 16 starters from last year's squad including four All-Sun Belt Conference players in wide receiver Eric Thomas, safety Brynden Trawick, defensive tackle Tony Davis and linebacker Kanorris Davis.
Troy will hold three scrimmages during the spring beginning with the annual T-Day Spring Game on Saturday, Mar. 31 at 2 p.m. The Trojans will then travel to Phenix City, Ala. for the second consecutive year to take part in a scrimmage. That scrimmage will take place at Central High School on Friday, April 6 beginning at 6 p.m. Spring practice will conclude with the final scrimmage on Saturday, April 14 in Troy.
