Troy women's basketball fell to Florida International 74-52 on Thursday.
Box Score
MIAMI, Fla. – A career night from Ieva Nagy wasn't enough to snap a four-game losing streak as the Troy women's basketball team fell at FIU, 74-52, on Thursday night.
Nagy, a sophomore from Adelaide, Australia, posted a career-high 23 points but it wasn't enough as FIU grabbed 18 offensive rebounds and shot 44.8 percent to pick up their fourth win in five games.
Nagy's 23 points were the most scored by a Trojan this season, besting DeAngela Sword's 21 points at Alabama State in December. Nagy was the only Trojan in double-figures.
Troy (2-24, 1-14) was outrebounded in the contest, 47-22 as the Trojans shot 40.0 percent from the floor.
FIU (19-9, 9-6) was led by Fanni Hutlassa with 26 while Jerica Coley (21) and Finda Mansare (12) were also in double-figures.
After shooting just 27.6 percent in the first half, Troy hit 14-of-26 (53.8 percent) in the second half but couldn't gain any ground as FIU's 22-point, 40-18, halftime lead held up.
Troy returns to the floor on Saturday when they close out their regular season at Florida Atlantic. Tip-off between the Trojans and Owls is set for 2:00 p.m. CST.

FIU 74, TROY 52
The Panthers used an 11-1 run to turn a tie game at 9-9 into a 20-10 contest as Troy went over five minutes without a field goal. A Sarah McAppion jumper with 7:09 to go in the frame snapped the streak and got Troy within single digits at 20-12.
However, the Trojans managed just six more points in the half as FIU finished the frame on a 20-6 run to build a 40-18 halftime lead.
The Panthers shot 56.7 percent (17-of-30) in the opening half while Troy was just 8-of-29 (27.6 percent). FIU hit five 3-pointers while the Trojans couldn't get a make from deep.
Nagy led Troy in the half and was well on her way to the career-high 23 points.
She matched the eight first half points with eight more in just the first 6:30 of the second half. Here 3-pointer at the 13:30 mark gave Nagy 16, setting a new career-high. However, Nagy's early eight in the second were part of just 10 for the Trojans in the opening stages of the half as FIU extended their lead tp 25 at 53-28.
The Trojans would tighten up on defense as they held FIU scoreless for 6:00 minutes in the middle stages of the half, but Troy could only cut the lead to 20 at 53-33 as everyone other than Nagy struggled to score.
Despite 53.8 percent (14-of-26) shooting by the Trojans in the second half, Troy couldn't cut the lead to singles digits as they fell by the final score of 74-52.
