Trojans Set for Sartain Finale

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's basketball team returns to Sartain Hall on Saturday night for the final game ever at the 50-year-old building.
The Trojans (8-16, 3-10) host UALR (13-14, 10-3) with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. The game will follow the women's game between Troy and UALR that tips at 5:15 p.m.
Commemorative T-shirts and commemorative tickets will be given out. Former players will also be honored at halftime.

Gameday Storylines
- Troy hosts UALR in the final game ever at Sartain Hall. Troy is 468-180 in the building's 50-year history. Don Maestri is 272-89 in the building.
- Troy hosted played UALR at Sartain Hall since Jan. 24, 2008. The last three games in the series have been played in Little Rock and the last four in the series have all been decided by five points or less. The series is tied at 4-4.
- The Trojans enter Thursday's game as the fifth best 3-point shooting team in the country as they average 9.0 made 3-pointers game. Florida (10.2) leads the nation while Troy has just 16 3-pointers in their last three games.
- The outside shooting creates long rebounds which allow the undersized Trojans to grab 14.4 offensive boards per game, the second best mark in the Sun Belt (South Alabama) and 14th best in the NCAA.
- Troy doesn't waste the extra possessions they create as they commit just 12.8 turnovers per game. Pair that with the 15.0 turnovers they force, and Troy's +2.17 turnover margin is the second best in the Sun Belt. Troy is one of just four Sun Belt teams with more assists than turnovers this season.
- The Troy offense features a balanced attack as six different players have led the team in scoring this season. Will Weathers' 11.6 points per game average is tops on the team while Just Wright is also in double-figures (11.0).
- Weathers doesn't just score for the Trojans, he is also one of the best distributors in the nation as his 5.8 assists per game lead the Sun Belt and rank 25th in the NCAA.
Looking at UALR
- After a tough 3-11 non-conference mark, the Trojans have hit their stride in Sun Belt play as they sit atop the West Division with a 10-3 mark in conference play.
- UALR has won five of its last six with the one loss coming on the road at Sun Belt front-runner Middle Tennessee.
- The Trojans, who won the Sun Belt Tournament last season with a tough defense, again sit near the top of the league in scoring defense as they allow just 63.9 points per game, the third best mark in the Sun Belt.
- Like Troy, UALR also takes care of the ball as their +2.00 turnover margin sits third in the Sun Belt.
D'Andre Williams leads the Trojans with 12.6 points per game and 4.1 assists per game.
The Series
- The series between Troy and UALR is tied at 4-4. The two sides haven't played in Troy since Jan. 24, 2008 when UALR won 62-60 on a last second layup.
- Troy is 2-2 against UALR in Troy, with the first meeting coming in 1962, the first year of Sartain Hall. Troy won that game, the sixth ever in the building, 76-49. Saturday's game will mark the 469th and final game in the arena.
- The last three games between the two teams have been played in Litttle Rock with Troy going 2-1 over that span.
- The last four contests in the series have all been decided by five points or less, including last season's 76-73 win by UALR in Little Rock. UALR was 9-of-10 from the free throw line in the final 35 seconds to seal the win while Troy was just 7-of-9 throughout the entire game.
- Will Weathers posted 27 points and 10 assists in the contest to lead Troy.
