Troy Takes High-Scoring Offense to Kennesaw

KENNESAW, Ga. – On the heels of a 118-point performance, the Troy women's basketball team will look to keep rolling as the Trojans travel to take on Kennesaw State on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. CST at the KSU Convocation Center.

The Trojans (1-2) picked up their first win of the season in exciting fashion last Sunday, defeating Furman at home 118-96. The 118 points were the third most in school history and the most scored by a women's basketball team nationwide this season.
Troy shot a school-record 64.3 percent (45-of-70) from the floor in the game as seven players scored in double figures, including all five starters. Kourtney Coleman led the way with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Joanna Harden also posted 19.
The Trojans are averaging 96.7 points per game through their first three contests, the best mark in the Sun Belt by nearly 20 points. Troy is shooting 45.4 percent from the field on the season, also the best mark in the Sun Belt.
True freshman Ashley Beverly-Kelley leads the Trojans in scoring early in the season at 16.0 points per game. Four other Trojans are averaging double figures under first-year head coach Chanda Rigby and her up-tempo system.
Kennesaw State (0-4) comes into Wednesday, their first home game, averaging just 49.8 points per game under first-year head coach Nitra Perry. The Owls dropped their season opener at Middle Tennessee before dropping a second contest at Georgia Tech.
KSU 's other two games came against Morehead State and Davidson, both as part of the Preseason WNIT, both close losses.
