Trojans Earn Second Seed in SBC Tournament

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Sun Belt Conference announced the eight-team field for this week's Sun Belt Volleyball Championships, with the Trojans earning the tournament's second seed.
The tournament, hosted in Bowling Green, Ky., by WKU, will get underway on Thursday. Troy (20-11, 10-5) will take on the seven seed, Louisiana-Lafayette at 12 p.m. in the first match of the tournament.
Troy's 20-win seasons marks the first for the Trojans since 2002 while the 10 Sun Belt wins are a program record. The second place finish in the Sun Belt is the highest for Troy in any conference since joining Division I in 1993.
The Trojans and Ragin' Cajuns met once this season with Troy losing that game at Sartain Hall, 3-1.
The eight-team tournament is in a single-elimination format. Winners of Thursday's quarterfinals will play in semifinals on Friday. The championship match will air on ESPN3 at 1 p.m. on Saturday with the winner earning an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
