2012 College Sports Madness Preseason All-American Teams

TROY, Ala. – Troy baseball players Tyler Hannah and Tyler Ray have been selected to the College Sports Madness 2012 Preseason All-American teams, the website announced over the weekend.

Hannah, a senior from Gardendale, Ala., was named to the first team, after being selected to the All-Sun Belt first team last season. Hannah started all 62 games last season, hitting .370 with seven home runs and 53 RBIs. His 27 doubles and .591 slugging percentage led Troy in 2011.

College Sports Madness placed senior right-handed pitcher Tyler Ray on the second team after leading Troy and the Sun Belt with 12 wins in 2011. Ray's 2.39 ERA and 69 strikeouts led the Trojans last season and the senior from Hoover, Ala will return to the top of the rotation for head coach Bobby Pierce's squad in 2012.

Hannah and Ray join FIU outfielder Pablo Bermudez as players who were selected by College Sports Madness on its 2012 Preseason All-American team. Hannah and Ray were also the only two selections of players who play in the state of Alabama.

This is the third preseason All-American honor for both players, as the pair was named preseason All-Americans by the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association and the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper in December.

The Troy baseball team opens up the 2012 season on February 17, 2012 at Riddle-Pace Field with a four game series against the Central Michigan Chippewas at 6:00 p.m.
