Troy Athletics and Smartphones Technologies launch Mobile Apps for iPhone and Android Platforms

Troy University Athletics along with the University's Information Technology department have partnered with Smartphones Technologies to launch the official iPhone and Android smart phone mobile applications of the Troy Trojans.
The officially licensed applications, built by Smartphones Technologies, feature up-to-the minute college football and basketball scores, news stories, schedules, AP & BCS polls, conference standings rosters, game previews and game recaps all at your fingertips.
“Troy Athletics is always looking for new and innovative ways to communicate with our fans and the ability to provide information directly to their mobile devises is a very important mode of communication,” Troy University Director of Athletics Steve Dennis said. “Troy fans are never more than seconds away from information on their favorite teams with these mobile applications.”
Additional sports included in the apps at this time are women's basketball, baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball.
"We're delighted to be working with Troy University to launch the Troy Trojans College SuperFans iPhone and Android apps," said Mike Merrill, CEO of Smartphones Technologies. "Apps such as these are a great way to allow students, fans and alumni to keep up with everything happening in Troy sports. Troy is ahead of the game in making sure Trojan fans have the ultimate Troy experience on their phones."
The Troy Trojans mobile applications are currently available to download for $1.99. The iPhone application is available on the iTunes store, and the Android application is available on the Android Market.
An application for Blackberry is in development and will be available in the near future.
