Troy women's basketball will look to snap losing streak against instate rival Jacksonville State.
Game Notes
Troy, Ala. – Troy women's basketball hits the road again, this time to Jacksonville, Alabama to take on instate rival Jacksonville State. The contest will wrap up a four game road campaign for the Trojans.
The Trojans (0-6, 0-0) will look to snap a six game losing streak this season with their last loss coming against the Auburn Tigers. With only five non-conference games remaining, Troy will also be looking to establish momentum before heading into conference action.
The Trojans will be lead by senior DeAngela Sword who continues to have success scoring this season. Sword has put up double digits in each of the past six contests.
After suffering major injuries earlier this season, the Trojans are improving on their young talent. Freshman Rosie Hynes will see her fourth straight start for the Trojans as Trojan guard Sophie Kleeman continues to battle injury. Hynes led her team in assists against Auburn earlier this week.
Jacksonville State (2-6, 0-0) enters the contest after a three game series on the road. The Gamecocks will be looking to bounce back from a 73-40 loss at Samford. JSU has been successful thus far on their home court as they are currently 2-0 at home having knocked off LeMoyne-Owen College and Lipscomb earlier this season.
Troy will tipoff against Jacksonville State on Sunday at 2pm. Follow TroyTrojans.com for all the latest updates on the contest and other Troy women's basketball news.
