Trojans To Face Miami Saturday Night

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University men's basketball team faces non-conference foe Miami University, Saturday night, at 7:00 p.m. in the final game of a two-game home stand.

Troy (3-3) avenged an early season loss to East Tennessee State on Tuesday night, as the Trojans led the entire game and dropped the Buccaneers, 79-71.

Four Trojans scored in double-figures in the win over ETSU, including junior Justin Wright who led Troy with 15 points. Sophomore R.J. Scott added 10 points, for his fifth-straight game scoring in double-figures.

Junior Emil Jones recorded a career-high 14 points and led Troy with eight rebounds against the Buccaneers.

Miami (2-3) comes to Troy after falling on the road to the Cincinnati Bearcats, Tuesday night, 56-47.

Senior forward Julian Mavunga, who is coming off his 17^th career double-double, leads Miami in scoring and rebounding through five games.

Against the Bearcats, Mavunga posted 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the loss and also became the 34^th Miami player to reach 1,000 career points.

Saturday's meeting will be the second meeting all-time for the Trojans and RedHawks. Last season, Troy fell to Miami, 80-73, on the RedHawk's home floor.

Tip off is set for 7:00 p.m. at Sartain Hall. Fans that live in or around the Troy area, can listen to the game on WTBF-970 AM. Once, the Troy IMG College Network concludes the broadcast of the Troy/Arkansas State football game, the men's basketball game will move to WTBF-94.7 FM.
