12th Annual Coach O Invitational a Success

FINAL RESULTS: MEN | WOMEN
The 2011 12th annual Cross Country Coach ”O” Invitational was a success.
“I'm very proud of how both teams competed today,” said Coach Casey McDermott. “I think that running this course today will help for conference.”
The women's team finished 2nd overall with many strong performances on the hilly 5K course.
Morgan Paulson was the top female performer for the Trojans for the 5th meet in a row. She finished 7th running a time of 20:05.03.
“I feel really good about the race today,” said Paulson. “I wish I could've stayed more consistent, but this was a great run to prepare for conference.”
Haley Davies and Agnes Kapsoiyo finished 11th and 12th respectively. Davies ran a time of 21:02.04, and Kapsoiyo ran a time of 21:11.39.
Allison Paulson and Sarah Wiedeman finished 16th and 17th respectively within 18 seconds of each other.
Robin Blackman, Kendall Harris, and AC Scarlett finished 19th, 20th and 23rd respectively all under 24:00.
Abby Barnett, Ja-Courtney Alexander, and Sally Taunton finished up for the Trojan women 28th, 29th, and 40th respectively.
“The women did a great job again to finish up the season,” said Coach McDermott.
The men's team finished 2nd overall with a solid performance on the 8K course.
Alec Hamm was the top male performer for the Trojans. He finished 7th running a time of 27:59.89, which set a personal record.
“I feel really confident about today's race and earning a PR,” said Hamm. “This was my final race, being a senior it felt really good to finish first for the men.”
Kemper Morton, David Hudman, and Adam Vise finished 9th, 13th, and 18th respectively. Morton ran a time of 28:14.9; Hudman ran a time of 29:20.04; and Vise ran a time of 30:05.94.
“Week after week Kemper has continued improving,” said Coach McDermott. “Alec and Adam both had a great race today.”
Nigel Mosley and Sam Ammons finished 21st and 24th respectively. Mosley ran a time of 30:23.45, and Ammons ran a time of 31:02.88.
Garric Hawkins, Landry Key, and Chris Upshaw had a strong finish for the men placing 30th, 34th, and 43rd respectively.
The Trojans will have two weeks to prepare before heading to Bowling Green, Ky. on October 28 to compete in the Sun Belt Conference Championships.
