The Troy baseball team will take on the Ontario Blue Jays, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Riddle-Pace Field, in what is the Trojans only exhibition game of fall practice.
Head coach Bobby Pierce and his players are ready to compete against a team that is not wearing the same uniform.
“It's always a date we look forward to,” Pierce said. “For us, it's our only opportunity to compete in the fall to compete against someone else.”
The Ontario Blue Jays is a group of 18 and under players from Canada that travel around North America. The Blue Jays will sport two different lineups this weekend when they take on the Trojans.
“The Ontario Blue Jays are a well-skilled, well-coached group of Canadian high school aged players that compete very well,” Pierce said.
The Trojans are coming off a 43-19 season and are the reigning Sun Belt Conference Regular Season Champs. This year's squad returns five starters and welcomes 14 newcomers to the team.
The exhibition game is free of charge to all fans.
