TROY, Ala. – Troy and Louisiana-Monroe will square off at 6 p.m. (CT) on Saturday at Larry Blakeney Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium in this week's Sun Belt Network Game of the Week.
The Trojans lead the all-time series with ULM 8-4-1. Since 2005 the two teams have held serve at home, with both teams winning three times on their home field. Prior to membership in the SBC, Troy won five of seven meetings with a tie in 1973. Trojans coach Larry Blakeney is 6-3 in his career against ULM.
Last year, ULM held Troy to 285 yards of total offense, its lowest offensive output since Florida held it to 139 yards in the second game of 2009. It was the Trojans lowest offensive output in an SBC game since Oct. 2006 against North Texas (243 yards).
The Trojans will be looking to bounce back after a loss to Louisiana-Lafayette but they own a 5-4 record in games following a league loss, with two of the league losses coming in the final game of the season. Of the four losses, only once has Troy lost back-to-back league games, falling to Arkansas State and Middle Tennessee in the final two games of the 2005 season.
