For the second time in nine days, Troy squares off with Western Kentucky on the hardwood. Tip-off is set for 7 pm on Saturday in Diddle Arena.
The contest with the Toppers completes a two-game road trip for the Trojans. Troy fell to Middle Tennessee 61-51 on Thursday night.
Troy knocked off the Hilltoppers 82-68 for its first Sun Belt win over the season on January 13. Vernon Taylor scored 20 points as the Trojans out-scored WKU by 20 in the second half to earn the victory.
Vernon Taylor, current Sun Belt Player of the Week, struggled in Thursday's loss to the Blue Raiders, totaling just six points while shooting 1-of-9 from the field. He leads the Trojans in scoring this season at 15.1 ppg.
WKU is led by Preseason Sun Belt Player of the Year Sergio Kerusch. The Memphis, Tenn.-native scores 14.9 ppg and grabs 7.6 rpg. Senior forward Juan Pattillo, an Oklahoma transfer, is right behind Kerusch in scoring at 14.4 ppg and averages nearly double-figures in rebounds (9.6 rpg).
Kerusch registered a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds in the two program's first meeting of the season.
Troy has won two straight meetings with WKU and four of the last five overall. The Toppers lead the all-time series 7-5.
Barry McKnight will have all the action from courtside beginning at 6:30 pm with the State Farm pregame show on the Troy Sports Network presented by IMG College.
