2010 Trojan Cup Tournament Set

The 2010 Trojan Cup Golf Tournament, which raises funds in support of the Troy University Golf program, will be held on Monday, August 23.
The event will be held again this year at the Troy Country Club, with a shotgun start scheduled for 1 p.m.
“We are excited to host the Second Annual Trojan Cup to benefit the Troy University Golf Program,” Troy University coach Matt Terry said. “The event is a great way for supporters, former players and current players tog et together in fellowship and to support the Troy Golf Program.”
The Trojan Cup made its debut last August to positive results. Members of the Troy University men's and women's golf teams are paired with players in the tournament in a unique format.
The Troy University players will be assigned to each four-person team in a modified Stableford Scramble format. Each player on the five-player team will hit from the tee. After the best tee shot is determined, each player will play his or her own ball from there.
The top two scores on each hole for the team will be counted toward the team score. Once a player reaches double bogey on a hole, they can pick up.
The participate in the Second Annual Trojan Cup, fill out the attached application and return to the Troy Golf Coach Matt Terry at 5000 Veterans Stadium Drive, Troy, AL, 36082.
The cost to enter a team in the event is $800. A hole sponsorship is $100. If you are unable to participate in the tournament but would like to make a contribution to the Troy Golf Program, donations are being accepted.
