Alumni to Gather on Troy Campus Saturday Morning for Volleyball

Head coach Sonny Kirkpatrick welcomes back former members of Troy volleyball this weekend

The 2010 Trojan Alumni Volleyball match is scheduled for Saturday, August 21, beginning at 11 am in Sartain Hall.

Troy head coach Sonny Kirkpatrick and the Trojans are gearing up for the 2010 season, but before that they will welcome back several former volleyball players to campus this weekend.

"We have a very good preseason," Kirkpatrick said. "The kids have really come in and worked hard this preseason, which has enabled us to shorten the days for them. This weekend will be fun to be able to bring back some of our former players to compete."

The match is free to the public and all are encouraged to attend.

The Trojans will open their regular season on Friday, August 27, at the Auburn Tournament; while the first home game for the Trojans is set for Saturday, September 4. They open play against Western Illinois at 10 am in the Troy University Spiketacular Tournament, the first home tournament under the currrent regime.
