Troy junior shortstop Adam Bryant leads all nominees in homeruns and fielding percentage this season.
Bryant Finalist for Award, Whitley Drafted

The College Baseball Foundation has pegged Troy shortstop Adam Bryant as a finalist for the Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year Award. The award is presented by Mizuno and the ceremony will be held in Lubbock, Texas on July 2 as a part of the College Baseball Awards Show.
Bryant is joined as a finalist for the award by Josh Rutledge of Alabama, Drew Maggi of Arizona State, Christian Colon of Cal State Fullerton, Ryan Soares of George Mason, Derek Dietrich of Georgia Tech, Carter Jurica of Kansas State, B.A. Vollmuth of Southern Miss, Brodie Greene of Texas A&M and Jedd Gyorko of West Virginia.
Bryant posted a .356 average through 61 games for Troy this season. The junior stroked 89 total hits with 23 of them going for home runs. He scored 70 runs and was credited with driving in 65 more. He also posted 16 doubles and six triples on the year.
Bryant's 23 home runs leads all finalists as well as his .990 fielding percentage.
The awards ceremony is part of a week of events sponsored by the College Baseball foundation. The induction ceremony for the College Baseball Hall of Fame will also be on the event schedule.
Trojans pitcher Chase Whitley was drafted by the New York Yankees in round 15 of the Major League Baseball draft.
Whitley posted a 3.68 era with a 7-3 record. He appeared in 32 games for Troy, all in relief efforts. He was credited with seven saves on the year in the 66 innings he pitched. Whitley held opponents to a .211 average when facing him on the mound.
