National Signing Day 2010

Members of the TroyTrojans.com staff will be live blogging National Signing Day on Wednesday, February 3, right here. The blog will be keeping the fans informed as the newest members of the Troy football program send in their letters of intent.
Additionally, at 3 pm on Wednesday afteroon, a live stream of the annual signing day press conference featuring head coach Larry Blakeney and other staff members will be available.
Be sure to check back here beginning at 8 AM on Wednesday.
8:14 AM: First, let me say the breakfast spread here in the football office is spectacular. Thanks to Judy Morgan for her hard work on that.
The first four LOI's have rolled in. Adrian Mack (DE/Waycross, Ga.), Terrence Jones (OL/Huntsville, AL) and linebacker Brach Bessant (Lake City, Fla.) have all submited their paperwork.
Perhaps the biggest name so far has been Ocala, Fla. defensive back Dionte Ponder. He picked Troy over Rutgers and Cincinnati.
8:28 AM: A pair of future defensive linemen have filed their paperwork Jonathan "J.R." Robertson (DE/Cullman, Ala.) and Jeron Boykin (DL/Thomaston, Ala.) have both sent in their paper work.
9:01 AM: Stoney Jackson makes it official. He signed with Troy out of Luverne HS in 2008 and after two years in junior college. He redshirted his first year, so he will be a sophomore for the Trojans this season.
9:11 AM: Two local future student-athletes have faxed in their LOI's. Chris Pickett (DB/Crestview, Fla.) and Corey Shelton (WR/Prattville, Ala.) are set to be members of the Troy football team in the near future.
9:28 AM: Florence (Ala.) HS offensive lineman Chris Hawkins is headed to Troy. He becomes the 10th pledge on Wednesday.
9:51 AM: Charles Hayes (Thomasville, GA) accepted a scholarship offer from the Trojans. His fax was followed by three messages from a trio of Marianna (Fla.) HS commits. Fidel Montgomery, Dalton Bennett and Tommy Stephens all submitted their paper work.
10:56 AM: Mark Beard was an All-West city player honoree by the Birmingham News. He sent in his paper work a few minutes before 11 am.
11:01 AM: It's picking up a little with a pair of teammates from Northeast Mississippi CC roll in off the fax. LaDarrius Madden (Leighton, Ala.) and Demarkus Underwood (Tuscumbia, Ala.) have submitted their paperwork.
11:19 AM: Troy adds another in-state signee in Mike Smith (Tallasee, Ala.), a 5A All-State performer as a running back last season.
12:34 PM: A full spread was provided at lunch by Ozzie and Ann Judah of the Red Owl Restaurant. The food was absolutely outstanding, and following lunch came more good news.
Defensive back Camren Hudson of Tallahassee, Florida faxed his intentions to play for the Trojans. The Rickards High School athlete also saw time on the field as a running back. He was recruited by Arkansas as well.
1:40 PM: Khary Franklin (Valdosta, Ga) and Terrance Evans (Bristol, Florida) officially became Trojans shortly after the lunch hour. Both served in a quarterback role a the high school level. Franklin led Lowndes high school of Valdosta to the state championship in the 2007 season and played in the Georgia-Florida All-Star Game. Evans participated in the National Underclassmen Combine in Orlando in 2009. He was also considering South Florida, Central Florida and UAB.
2:04 PM: Dothan, Ala native B.J. Chitty made it official after attending a signing day luncheon. Chitty was a three-sport athlete at Northview High School playing baseball and basketball along with football. He was the Cougars quarterback posing dual-threat capablities. He also punted for the Cougars and was recruited by Nebraska and Auburn.
2:31 PM: Ethan Davis of Panama City, Florida has added his name to the official list and faxed in his papers. Davis was a 1,000 yard rusher at Mosley High School, and was named to the All-Bay County as a defensive back.
2:51 PM: Two Fort Walton Beach, Florida natives faxed in their intentions to play for the Trojans. Quarterback Luke Barnes and defensive back Joe Lofton rounded out the day for Troy. Barnes broke a pair of passing records held by Danny Wuerffel, and Lofton was rated as a three-star athlete by ESPN.com.
This concludes the day for the Trojans with a press conference coming up at 3 PM with head coach Larry Blakeney.
