Trojans Mix With Pike County's Finest

The Troy University volleyball team did a great job of representing their university and athletic department on Saturday when they were on hand at the first ever Pike County Special Olympics Family Day.
The event gives the athletes of the Special Olympics a chance to interact with each other as well as a chance for the families to get to know each other.
The athletes had a chance to experience the five events that the Pike County Special Olympics are going to concentrate on during the state games.
All of the volleyball student-athletes and coaches were on hand to assist in some of the events and to interact with Pike County's Special Olympics athletes.
"It's a very worthwhile event and it helps our players understand what they have," said head coach Sonny Kirkpatrick, "It gives them a chance to give back to this great community."
