Trojans Move to Afternoon Practice

TROY - The first day of afternoon practice for the Trojans was not what head coach Larry Blakeney wanted.

After moving from their camp time of 6 pm to a 3 pm practice time, Blakeney hoped to get a little more out of his team than he got on Tuesday afternoon.

"We basically let the heat get the best of us in the first day time practice and we've got to be better at overcoming the environment," he said. "It clouded up and made it cooler than it could have been."

Although he wasn't necessarily happy with what transpired on the practice field, Blakeney did manage to find some positive in the afternoon session.

"We didn't get much out of today, but we didn't get anybody hurt so that's a positive," he said.

The Trojans were dismissed early for a department-wide student-athlete convocation. They will hit the practice field again on Wednesday at 3 pm as they continue their preparation for the 2009 season.
