Baker Wins Weekly SBC Honor ... Again

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Sun Belt Conference released its weekly track and field awards this afternoon and junior Tiphanie Baker was awarded her second consecutive Field Athlete of the Week award, as voted on by the track and field media relations contact of each school in the conference.
Baker was rewarded for her performance at this past weekend's Auburn Tiger Track Classic, a meet in which she was entered in three events and met the NCAA Qualifying standard in all three events. She also set new personal bests in each event, as well as setting school records in the three events.
She finished first overall in the discus with a throw of 53.15 meters (174'4"), seventh in the shot put with a throw of 14.46 meters (47'5.25") and finished with a throw of 56.02 meters (183'4") in the hammer.
Baker currently is third in the conference in the shot put, but leads the Sun Belt Conference in the discus and the hammer.
Troy returns to action this weekend in Mobile at the South Alabama Invitational.
