Being a student-athlete isn't just about winning and losing on the field.
Student-athletes are often recognized for their on-field accomplishments, but sometimes it is what they do off the field that is truly remarkable.
Student-athletes at TROY have much more than just physical skill. They all have great character and a great sense of community.
A few Trojans showed off this character by participating in the national Read Across America program.
The Read Across America program brings positive role models into elementary and middle schools to read to the children.
Members of the rodeo, track and field, baseball, football, soccer, tennis, men's and women's basketball, golf and volleyball teams went to Charles Henderson Middle School on Monday and read to the children.
The student-athletes answered questions about how reading has helped them achieve their goals.
The children loved to see their Trojans, as many of the children look up to Troy's student-athletes and see them as role models.
