I'm Getting Excited
I've always been a big recruiting junky as a teenager and college football fan. Now that I am working with an up-and-coming football program like Troy it makes it even more exciting to get to see the inside of what goes on during signing day. You may remember my blog from Sun Belt Conference Media Days last July. I really enjoyed giving you, the fans, an inside looking into what goes on in New Orleans and hopefully I can provide some of the same insight tomorrow.
Before I go any further I need to be sure to mention a couple of guys that put in a lot of hard work helping us get ready for Wednesday as we spent countless hours scouring newspapers, scanning websites, making phone calls and finally getting some great information on Troy's 2009 signing class. I'd like to say a special thank you to student assistants David Breed and Matt Mays. Thanks for all your hard work guys!
So that's it for Tuesday. A lot can still happen between now and tomorrow morning, but you can rest assured Troy's outstanding coaching staff has put in a lot of hard work and it will pay-off tomorrow when they will surely add another great class of incoming players.
See you guys tomorrow!
Taylor

It Begins...
The first two national letters of intent are in and safety Caleb Massey (6-1, 185) and wide receiver Dominique Bonman (6-2, 174) both from Sulligent High School have made their decisions to play for the Trojans. The players are actually half-brothers. I'll have bio sketches up for all the signees later this afternoon.

Maybe we are rolling??
After about an hour, two more are in as defensive tackle Anthony Payne (6-2, 285) and running back Shawn Southward (5-9, 185). Defensive linemen Aaron Williams (6-5, 260) and Shermane Teart (6-2, 250) and defensive back Bradley Wallace (6-2, 195) also sent in their letters.
It looks like the NLI's are starting to pour in quickly.

Several More to Pass Along
Running back Greg Pratt (5-8, 165), wide receiver Sam Haskins (6-4, 200) and offensive linemen Jay Stansberry (6-4, 265) and Nate Newland (6-2, 293) along with defensive lineman Eugene Kinlaw (6-2, 294) have each signed to play for Troy next season.

Two offense and one defense
Defensive back Sergio Perez (6-0, 175) and offensive lineman Cody Jenkins (6-5, 290) both submitted their letters. Troy is really loading up on defensive backs and linemen. Daymond Brinson (6-3, 230) also inked with the Trojans.

Several More Come In
Hutchinson CC cornerback Barry Valcin (6-0, 190) has signed his LOI with Troy. He will be on campus this Fall with four years to play three. Offensive lineman Jeremy Simmons (6-4, 343) along with receiver Anthony Williams (6-2, 202) and tackle Dontavious Pyron (6-2, 270) have all sent in their letters of intent.
Just in the last minute local player Tony Gray (5-11, 180) a defensive back from Enterprise, Ala. also sent in his letter of intent. Also just got the paperwork from wide receiver Dezman Ivory (5-11, 175) and defensive end John Clark (6-4, 220). Vinson Bass (6-3, 285) is also now a Trojan.
EDIT (10:47 AM): Add Mike Robinson (6-2, 205) a wide receiver from Fairfield, Ala. The Trojans are adding a lot of in-state talent. That should definitely be a boost for the fan base.

One More is In
It has been a while since a LOI has been faxed in, but Butler County CC defensive end Jonathan Massaquoi (6-4, 290) is now officially a Troy Trojan. There might be a couple more trickle in over the rest of the afternoon. I'll be sure to post when they do.
Don't forget about the free video of Coach Larry Blakeney's Press Conference this afternoon at 4 pm. You can find the link to that above.
