Brown and Willis Earn SBC Honors

Trojans quarterback Levi Brown and cornerback Bryan Willis were honored Monday by the Sun Belt Conference for their play on Saturday in Troy's 42-33 victory over FIU.
Brown, a senior from Mt. Juliet, Tenn., was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week for the third time in the last four games after passing for 391 yards and three touchdowns against the Golden Panthers. He also earned the honor after strong performances against UAB and Arkansas State.
Willis, a redshirt freshman from Columbus, Ga., became the first Troy player to earn the Sun Belt's Defensive Player of the Week honor, sharing the award with defensive end Troy Evans of ULM.
Brown completed 28-of-37 passes against FIU and passed for more than 100 yards in each of the first three quarters against the Golden Panthers. He did not throw an interception for the third straight game and has not been picked off in his last 140 pass attempts.
Brown now stands sixth on the Troy career passing yardage list with 3,709 and he is the school's all-time record holder in completion percentage, having completed 63.1 percent of his throws.
Brown is ranked 17th in the nation in total offense this year at 274.33 yards per game, and he ranks 33rd in the nation, and first in the Sun Belt, in passing efficiency with a 141.66 passer rating.
Willis was the Trojans' leading tackler in the win over FIU with 11 total stops, 11 of which were solo. He also recorded his second interception of the year, with a 26-yard return, early in the second half to set up a Troy touchdown. He was also credited with three pass breakups in the game against FIU.
Willis currently stands second on the team in total tackles with 39 and has a team-high six pass breakups to go with his two interceptions.
