Game changing Plays
I am back with my weekly blog. I decided that once a week would keep people in anticipation rather than the everyday tidbits.
My blog really is just themed as a food-for-thought kind of deal.
Yesterday, Coach (Neal) Brown pointed out in our walk-through about me not making a block in the Florida game that could have been a touchdown. I thought to myself that maybe that little play could have boosted our momentum and rattled Florida, to ultimately give us a victory.
Everybody always looks back at a game and points out something that could have changed the outcome. I think as football players you have to take advantage of the play at hand, because even one little block, off sides, drop or missed tackle could make or break a game.
A perfect example is our game against Oklahoma State. That first fumble we recovered gave us a huge advantage mentally and shook Oklahoma State into a coma. I specifically remember making a key block on a touchdown run, I think. My vision is sort of hazy from that game due to smashing blow to my dome that knocked me out.
Hopefully, Coach Brown remembers that block as well as the missed blocked from Florida because, who knows, if I had gotten that block, anything could have happened.
The whole point is that we have to make the game changing blocks and the game changing tackles, etc., to keep the momentum on our side. When a team gets shaken up so much, it's harder for them to recover, and that's what should lead us to our goals for this season.
