Long Day For Trojans

Today was a long day for all of us. It was the first of two
two-a-days here at
We had to come in at 5 a.m. this morning to get ready for the first practice. The upside about performing early in the morning is that it is nice and cool. We started the day putting all of the practice equipment in the stadium since the lower fields weren't used for this practice.
The players were back in shells this morning after the full pads practice yesterday. There was some contact between the players during the drills. They were just the usual drills that emphasize technique. It was a shorter practice this morning, only 18 periods (90 minutes).
After practice, we took up all of the practice balls and left all of the practice dummies in the stadium to help us save time for setting out the equipment for the practice tonight.
Afterwards, we went to Saga for breakfast. Then, we all helped clean all of the practice laundry and put it into the issue bins. This didn't take too long since we were all helping with cycling the laundry and putting it into the issue bins.
The people who were assigned with workout laundry today stayed behind while the rest of us were dismissed until 3:30 p.m. This gave all of us, even the one doing laundry, some much needed time to catch up on sleep.
After we came back, we moved the practice equipment needed by the offensive line and defensive squads onto the lower practice fields. This took a lot less time than usual since we didn't have to pull all of the dummies out of the storage shed.
After dinner, we moved the practice balls onto the fields then we assisted our coaches with the usual pre-practice drills.
For future reference, don't be too surprised if I sound like a broken record on some of these blogs. With the exception of maybe a few things, most of the stuff we do on a daily basis is pretty routine day in and day out.
The night practice was once again in shells. There was a little more contact between the players than in the morning practice since the first practice was just to help them hone their technique.
It was the usual night practice for camp, about 26 periods (just over two hours). It ended with the usual simulated scrimmage at the end.
At the end of practice, we did our normal routine of cleaning up the field, checking all of the practice balls, starting laundry and locking the gate to the stadium. Fortunately for us, we will have most of the day off tomorrow, so we will have even more time to catch up on some sleep.
Until later,
Jeff
