The 2008 Football Appreciation Night was a great success with more than 600 donors in attendance. This annual event, held in the Stadium Club, was an outstanding evening of great food, fine fellowship and Trojan football. I was pleased to see so many enthusiastic Trojans turnout.
Many of those in attendance got a chance to visit with Coach Blakeney and his staff. Coach Blakeney took the opportunity to introduce his assistant coaches and their wives and also to discuss the upcoming 2008 football season. Coach Blakeney thanked everyone for their loyal support and reiterated how important it was for fans to attend the games this fall as we make a push for our third straight conference championship.
In addition, TROY Athletics will make available in the very near future limited edition prints of first round NFL draft pick Leodis McKelvin. This 20” X 24” print depicts Leodis in his 74-yard punt return for a touchdown versus Oklahoma State in 2007 at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.
We will soon post a link for you to purchase your very own print at www.troytrojans.com. Proceeds from the sale of these prints will go directly to the Troy University football program.
Leodis graciously autographed 25 of the prints for us. These autographed prints also include signatures from Coach Larry Blakeney and artist Tim Bailey. Only prints one through 25 were individually autographed and only 250 total prints will be made available to the public.
